EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS JUNE 2014
− Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP792 million and MOP6.93 billion respectively, up by 7% and 9% year-on-year.
Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP6.14 billion.
− In the second quarter, merchandise export and import amounted to MOP2.56 billion and MOP21.69 billion, up by 14% and 11%
respectively year-on-year, resulting in a trade deficit of MOP19.13 billion.
− In the first half year of 2014, merchandise export increased by 10% year-on-year to MOP5.04 billion, of which re-exports rose by 14% but domestic exports declined by 4%; merchandise import grew by 14% to MOP43.46 billion. External merchandise trade increased by 14%
year-on-year to MOP48.50 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP38.42 billion.
