The Study of Investment Influential Factors to Taiwan Business; Under the Policy of Grand Development in Western China,

ABSTRACT
There are totally twelve provinces, municipals, and autonomous regions in western China, PRC.Also the increasing difference of the fortune between Eastern and Western China rich has declined the people’s living quality in Western China. To improve the worsen situation, the Chinese Communist officially presented the developing strategy in Western China in 1999. The first print of Taiwan’s businessman to Mainland China can be traced back among 1982 to 1983. The invested business was finite then for the imposed Martial Law of Taiwan and immature economic policy in China. However, since July, 1987, much policies of Taiwan, such as the lifting of Martial Law, releasing of Foreign Exchange control, and permitting of relatives visit to China, has been dramatically speeding up the investment step in China. The purpose of this study is to review and analyze documents in relevant to geological environment, economic development, and policy influence of grand development in Western China, finding out factors that could assist the potential Taiwan investor to make better investment in the future. The study showed that, till June 2002, the Chinese official report indicated that Taiwan’s investment has accomplished 53,411 cases, with invested amount of 31.5 billion USD, which made Taiwan the fourth large foreign investor in China, simply after the Hong Kong, USA, and Japan. The fact indicated that Taiwan’s Business is very competitive in the massive China market. The research indicated that much Taiwan enterprise strategy should be adjusted to correspond the changing policy and strong competition from other business. The study results found nine advantages and ten disadvantages in economic, geological, policy field should be seriously considered by Taiwan investor to Western China. Also, the research showed that electronic industry is the best advantageous business in investing the Western China.
