第五章、 資料分析與結果

第二節 建議

本研究根據科技接受模式,以網路問卷調查方式探討電子資源整合查詢系統的認知 情形與使用行為,研究目的旨在瞭解系統常用功能、系統接受度,並分析影響使用行為 之相關因素,綜合結論與結果提出以下幾點建議,俾供其他研究者作為未來研究電子資 源整合查詢系統的使用行為相關議題之參考。

一、電子資源整合查詢系統使用行為之整合研究

本研究以交大的全校教職員生作為研究對象,以MetaLib為研究系統,從使用者角 度去探討電子資源整合查詢系統的認知情形與使用行為,研究發現交大使用者對系統的 認同程度高,不同背景的使用者,其系統使用行為與接受度皆具差異。

目前國內許多圖書館購置其他電子資源整合查詢系統以深化對讀者的服務,如 SmartWeaver、MuseSearch及HySearch,建議未來研究對象可擴大至其他電子資源整合 查詢系統的使用者,應用本研究架構,整合各系統之使用行為研究,並與本研究結論進 行比較分析,探討不同系統間的認知情形、使用行為與系統接受度的差異性。

二、電子資源整合查詢系統之利用教育課程的必要性

對圖書館而言,電子資源整合查詢系統算是提供使用者一項重要的新服務,代表圖 書館服務的延伸,讓使用者能進一步找到所需的資訊資源(Cervone, 2005)。依據本研究 問卷意見反應中,可以看出使用者對於電子資源整合查詢系統(MetaLib)的利用教育訓練 課程具有強烈的需求,普遍反應希望能多加推廣MetaLib,如在圖書館網站上提供教育 訓練的教材資料之外,建議圖書館製作系統教學的互動數位學習教材,還有提供更詳細 的資料庫的使用方式,多增加一些範例可讓新手更快熟悉如何操作使用系統,以增加使 用率。

在電子資源整合查詢系統的教育訓練課程中,圖書館必須了解系統服務使用者所扮 演的可能角色,再思考將圖書館的資訊資源如何呈現。對於那些已迷失在圖書館網站與 日益倍增的資料庫中的使用者,圖書館可以扮演更積極的角色,把失去的使用者一一找 回來,透過提供利用教育課程,幫助使用者對系統能有更佳了解與利用(Luther, 2003)。

Tennant (2004)研究發現只有館員喜歡”檢索(search)”,而使用者卻喜歡”發現(find)”,也 許需要提供更多的使用者教育訓練課程,幫助使用者做最佳的選擇,尤其在使用者鮮少 尋求館員協助的情況下(Elliott, 2004)。

本研究從使用者之各項不同背景分析中得知,不同的性別、身分別及學院別確實會 影響使用者對於電子資源整合查詢系統的認知、態度、使用意願以及使用行為,因此建 議圖書館應針對不同背景的使用者擬定適宜的電子資源整合查詢系統推廣課程,藉此瞭 解使用者的電子資源整合查詢系統的使用情形與需求,進而提升其使用電子資源整合查 詢系統的能力及養成使用習慣。

三、將電子資源整合查詢系統之潛在使用者輔以成為實際使用者,以提升 系統使用率

本研究之研究對象為具有電子資源整合查詢系統經驗的使用者,從問卷調查結果可 知,雖然使用者對於電子資源整合查詢系統(MetaLib)的認知、態度及使用行為,抱持正 向且認同的看法,也有極高的使用意願,但從使用者的背景資料分析顯示,平均一週使 用電子資源整合查詢系統1-2次者佔55.3%,知道系統的時間為一年以內者佔47.4%,每 次使用系統的平均時間為60分鐘以內的佔了72.7%,且使用者大部份以碩士班生居多,

所以碩士班生以外的使用者,在電子資源整合查詢系統的利用率上似乎仍有相當大的成 長空間;另外,有62.3%的使用者願意推薦給他人使用電子資源整合查詢系統,可以看 出使用者對於系統的滿意度不差,才會有意願推薦給他人使用。因此如何讓潛在使用者 有意願去使用電子資源整合查詢系統,以取得所需的資訊資源將是圖書館推廣活動設計 的重點。

本研究建議圖書館可探討潛在使用者對電子資源整合查詢系統之系統接受度,並對 具有使用經驗的使用者與潛在使用者之使用意願進行分析,了解影響其使用行為的因 素,將有助於各圖書館推廣電子資源整合查詢系統,以提升系統使用率。

四、供交大圖書館作為改善電子資源整合查詢系統推廣活動之參考

由本研究問卷中使用者建議與意見可知,使用者在肯定電子資源整合查詢系統之 餘,仍殷殷切切地提供許多寶貴的意見,希望系統能更完善,建議如系統功能方面,希 望系統與Google做整合,尤其若能讓Google也搜尋其資料庫,就更能滿足使用者資訊尋 求的需求;而在介面設計方面,使用者反應查詢介面並沒有使用輔助說明,令人無所適 從,不知從何執行檢索,導致許多使用者在找尋與研究相關資料時,傾向於直接於所需 的資料庫網站上執行檢索,致使無法增加電子資源整合查詢系統的使用率,以發揮系統 最大的效益。因此,本研究探討電子資源整合查詢系統之認知情形、使用行為、系統接 受度及其影響因素,研究結果與使用者建議,可提供交大圖書館了解其使用者的需求與 意見,作為改善系統相關功能之重要參考。
