EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS MARCH 2018
- Merchandise export amounted to MOP1.03 billion, down by 3.8% year-on-year; merchandise import increased by 21.9% to MOP7.68 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP6.65 billion.
- In the first quarter of 2018, merchandise export rose by 0.8% year-on-year, of which re-exports increased by 2.9% but domestic exports decreased by 10.8%; meanwhile, merchandise import grew by 27.2%. External merchandise trade went up by 23.4% year-on-year to MOP25.59 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP19.65 billion.
- Merchandise export to Mainland China grew by 15.2% year-on-year to MOP471 million in the first quarter of 2018, of which exports to the Nine Provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta went up by 20.5%. Analysed by place of consignment of imports, merchandise import from Mainland China rose by 17.1%
year-on-year to MOP3.00 billion, of which imports from the Nine Provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta increased by 20.6%.
