EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS
FEBRUARY 2018
- Merchandise export amounted to MOP712 million, down by 21.2% year-on-year; merchandise import increased by 29.7% to MOP6.61 billion. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP5.90 billion.
- In the first two months of 2018, merchandise export rose by 3.4% year-on-year, of which re-exports increased by 7.0% but domestic exports decreased by 16.1%; meanwhile, merchandise import grew by 30.6%. External merchandise trade went up by 26.8% year-on-year to MOP16.95 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP13.07 billion.
- Merchandise export to Mainland China grew by 38.4% year-on-year to MOP323 million in the first two months of 2018, of which exports to the Nine Provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta went up by 46.7%. Analysed by place of consignment, merchandise import from Mainland China rose by 23.9%
year-on-year to MOP1.94 billion, of which imports from the Nine Provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta increased by 27.3%.
