EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS
FEBRUARY 2017
- Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP904 million and MOP5.18 billion, up by 27.2% and 9.1% respectively year-on-year. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP4.28 billion.
- In the first two months of 2017, merchandise export rose by 11.2% year-on-year, of which domestic exports and re-exports increased by 23.6% and 9.2% respectively;
merchandise import grew by 1.6%. External merchandise trade went up by 2.8% year-on-year to MOP13.56 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP9.81 billion.
- Merchandise export to Mainland China slid by 1.8% year-on-year to MOP234 million in the first two months of 2017, of which exports to the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP215 million) fell by 5.0%. Analysed by place of consignment, merchandise import from Mainland China reduced by 2.7% to MOP1.56 billion, of which imports from the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP1.48 billion) declined by 2.3%.
