課程學習目標
This course aims to enhance English oral skills in academic and professional settings. Students will be engaged in professional dialogues of all kinds both in the classroom with the instructor and in weekly meetings with a teaching assistant. Communication skills this semester include those of informal interchanges, telephone conversations and formal presentations. All language skills are integrated, but classroom activities are primarily designed to help students to speak up.

學習規範
1.Attendance Policy: It is absolutely crucial that you attend the class and TA sessions. Each absence will result in a 3-point deduction of the semester grade. Two late arrivals equal one absence. 4 absences will lead to failure of this course.
2.Previews: Complete all reading and listening assignments prior to class so that most class time could be devoted to oral training. There will be a number of class activities and presentations. Please come to class prepared.
3.Presentations: Students will be responsible for their own reports and present them in class in a timely manner. Presentation skills will be discussed in class and students are expected to follow the rules during the presentation. Topics could be assigned by teacher or decided after group discussions
