- The general unemployment rate (1.9%) held stable as in the previous period (September-November 2017); the unemployment rate of local residents (2.5%) and the underemployment rate (0.3%) both went down by 0.1 percentage point.
- The general labour force participation rate (69.9%) and the labour force participation rate of local residents (63.8%) dropped by 0.5 and 0.6 percentage points respectively over the previous period. Total employment was 375,900 and employed residents totalled 276,400, down by 1,600 and 2,100 respectively.
- In the fourth quarter, the general unemployment rate (1.9%) and the unemployment rate of local residents (2.5%) decreased by 0.1 and 0.2 percentage points respectively from the previous quarter.
