EXTERNAL MERCHANDISE TRADE STATISTICS
MARCH 2017
- Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP1.07 billion and MOP6.41 billion, up by 4.8% and 19.0% respectively year-on-year. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP5.35 billion.
- In the first quarter of 2017, merchandise export rose by 8.8% year-on-year, of which domestic exports and re-exports increased by 15.4% and 7.7% respectively;
merchandise import grew by 6.5%. External merchandise trade went up by 6.8% year-on-year to MOP20.94 billion. Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP15.06 billion.
- Merchandise export to Mainland China rose by 0.4% year-on-year to MOP408 million in the first quarter of 2017, of which exports to the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP381 million) fell by 2.8%. Analysed by place of consignment, merchandise import from Mainland China reduced by 0.6% to MOP2.56 billion, of which imports from the nine provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta (MOP2.40 billion) declined by 0.7%.
