第四節 研究者反思
本研究運用的服務品質缺口模型是源自管理學的理論架構，近年已陸續被應 用至社會工作管理、兒童及老人福利服務領域之研究，只是在餐食服務方面還未 有人作此嘗試。選用這個理論架構發展研究的核心原因除了專業知識的追求外另 帶有個人目的含於其中，其一是倡導服務使用者觀點的重要性，其二是讓服務使 用者的聲音與意見被聽見和看見，社會工作的服務對象絕不該再被視為被動接受 服務的客體或弱勢者，而是具有自由意志與公民權利的主體，與普世大眾無異。
在閱讀文獻過程中，研究者注意到這類型研究都只擷取了服務品質缺口模型的缺 口五，即期望與實際服務之間的落差作為研究架構，因此對本研究賦予較大的企 圖心，要針對缺口一至缺口五合併進行探討(參圖 2-3-4)，策略即是盡可能將各缺 口所代表的概念逐一操作化為可測量的指標，設計成題項納入研究問卷。
研究終末，研究者反思了這樣的嘗試，認識到服務品質缺口模型是適宜用於 餐食服務的，它提供了一個以服務使用者為中心的品質觀點，並點出了服務提供 單位從規劃、準備到執行服務的過程都與服務品質息息相關，若要讓服務使用者 感受到好的服務品質，則每個環節都必須符合其需求，這與社會工作專業向來尊 重案主權益、自主性的價值是相吻合的；然而也體會到要完全應用這個理論模型 事實上是一件困難的事，除了缺口五服務品質的缺口可應用服務品質量表測量外，
對於使用者知識的缺口、組織層次的缺口、服務安排的缺口，以及服務宣傳的缺 口，其概念的抽象化程度依然是高的，只以幾個簡要的變項測量之，所以探討不 深入，充其量只算是表面性地瞭解。研究者衷心盼望後續仍有社會工作研究者繼 續在服務品質這塊研究主題上耕耘，不僅在餐食服務，也逐漸開展至其他老人福 利服務。
