Merchandise export and import amounted to MOP1.02 billion and MOP8.06 billion, up by 1.8% and 6.7% respectively year-on-year. Merchandise trade deficit totalled MOP7.04 billion.

In the first eleven months of 2018, merchandise export rose by 7.4% year-on-year, of which re-exports increased by 11.3% but domestic exports decreased by 13.3%; meanwhile, merchandise import grew by 21.1%. External merchandise trade went up by 19.3% year-on-year to MOP93.36 billion.

Merchandise trade deficit widened further to MOP71.06 billion.

Merchandise export to Mainland China fell by 5.5% year-on-year to MOP1.85 billion in the first eleven months of 2018, with exports to the Nine Provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta rising by 3.0%. Analysed by place of consignment, merchandise import from Mainland China rose by 14.6% year-on-year to MOP12.51 billion, of which imports from the Nine Provinces of the Pan Pearl River Delta increased by 16.7%.
