A Study on The Correlation Among Social Support, Leisure Participation and Life Satisfaction for Elementary School Stude

ABSTRACT
This research aims to explore the relationships among social supports, leisure participation, and life satisfaction. This research uses questionnaire method and primary school students’ mothers in Taichung City as subjects (before Taichung City is merged with Taichung County and becomes New Taichung City). I distributed 430 copies of questionnaires and 398 copies of valid
questionnaires were responded. The response rate is 92.6%. The data from the subjects were analyzed by the statistical software SPSS 12.0, and I will use the analyzed data to do descriptive statistics, one-way Anova, Scheffe post hoc analysis, Pearson product-moment correlation, and regression analysis. The conclusions of this research are as follows. First, there are obvious differences of social supports among different primary school students’ mothers in terms of different “working situations” and
“individual’s disposal income per month” (which deducts the living expenses). Second, there are obvious differences of leisure participation among different primary school students’ mothers in terms of “educational levels” and “individual’s disposal income per month” (which deducts the living expenses). Third, for the three aspects of social supports, leisure participation, and life satisfaction, any two aspects show a positive relation. Fourth, social supports and leisure participation have a strong prediction for life satisfaction. According to the research results, I shall propose some suggestions for related governmental institutions and other researchers’ reference.
