5.2 本研究之不足與創新
本研究並非盡善盡美，仍有許多有待改善之處，主要在於：第一，傳教士 官話研究方面，尚有許多雙語辭典及詞彙表等可使論述更加完善，然限於篇幅 與時間，並非本文所能窮盡。第二，在傳教士方言作品的對照上只採福建話，
而不及其他地方話，但中國境內語言多為聲調語，若能與別的方言之語言作品 比較或能帶來不同的觀點。第三，在參考資料時雖盡量選擇原文為主，但有些
文稿由於難以取得，只能閱讀英語文獻或自前人研究中轉引，為研究之一缺憾。
儘管有以上之缺失，但本文亦有創新之處，主要如下：首先，以往學者或 偏重研究單一語言作品，缺少相對完整的研究體系，或力圖從宏觀角度闡述傳 教士漢語學習與研究的情況，但可能失之零碎，而疏於深入探討；而本研究試 圖於其中找出平衡點，對照兩份作品，以發現其異同，並探討其原因。其次，
雖然已有大量有關漢語學習與研究的文章、論著提及《西字奇蹟》跟《華語官 話語法》，但學者並未同時取其他傳教士的官話和方言資料來做歷時與共時的比 較，因此，本文研究之視角較之以往應有所突破和補充。再次，前人之成果大 都局限於整理文獻，做出結論，但未有提出個人意見，本文所歸納的兩種聲調 引介模式儘管粗淺而不成熟，但此後研究應可朝此方向，以更多的文獻驗證其 成立與否，或加以修正，使之更臻完美。
