第二節 研究限制與建議
本研究依照研究命題的需要在抽樣上採取了最大差異度的抽樣策略,雖然這 樣的方式應用在初探性研究時,可以很有效率的一方面兼顧研究樣本的涵蓋寬 度,同時聚焦在感興趣的議題上進行相同或不同的相互比較(陳向明,2002),
可是限於時間與人力的因素,加上網際網路產業的特性,從業者本身,包括個人 層次到企業組織層次都呈現非常複雜的多元特性,因此即使本研究已經根據相關 文獻,訂出篩選標準並盡可能在有限的資源下力求樣本寬度與人數上的平衡,可 是進行深入分析的過程中,例如將 14 位受訪者作四種工作執掌區隔後,可能一 個工作角色只剩 3~4 人,而要從中去歸納出某些模式或特徵,以做為不同工作執 掌間的比較辨析等類似情況,就會開始有代表性的疑慮,雖說質化研究在某種程 度上允許「推論」可以有不同的思考面,可是建議未來如果要再進一步探討工作 執掌的影響力,可以採取兩兩相比較(例如針對設計與程式人員;或設計與企劃 人員等)的方式,或是在同一公司裡的不同工作執掌人員,類似是採取個案探討 的方式來進行,應該都有助於改善本研究在樣本的侷限性。
而就樣本代表性上的另一個問題是本研究所有的訪談都是在台北縣市進行 的,儘管網路是一個打破地理疆界的媒介與科技,研究對象提供的服務不僅是給 台北市、而是台灣全國甚至全世界的華文使用者;可是探討的意題範疇確實是藉 由這些網站從業者的經驗分享得來的,因此就開發經驗的層次,仍然是以台北市 的企業組織為主。
另方面,由於本研究是一個初探性研究,而研究命題本身同時涉及的議題又 非常廣泛,必須要關照的範疇根據過去諸多學者的建議包括了開發方法(流程)、
團隊分工、企業組織文化、資源與使用者參與等等,而這每一個領域之下又牽涉 到無數的子領域,更重要的是他們彼此之間還會有不同層次的相互影響及關係,
以致要有所取捨時著實不易。所以在進行研究結果的報告上往往會過於冗贅,而 又無法逐一提供深刻精闢的分析,並找出每個現象背後隱藏的意涵,或提供具 體、完整的解答。因此本研究僅能勾勒出台灣網路產業使用性實踐的一個概貌,
並根據研究概念架構,盡可能找出所有會影響到採取使用者中心取向的使用性實 踐策略的因素,而這每一個都亟待更多的探索,例如從方法論層面、企業組織層 面、團隊分工層面等等。換句話說,就像 Rauch 與 Wilson(1995)當時首度進 行這種使用性實踐的研究時,即使面臨的都是學有專精的 HCI 人員,都會感慨 發現的問題多過於想要尋求的解答,因此雖然轉換到 2005 年的台灣時空,卻也 因為目前網路產業整體使用性實踐的成熟度不足—一如當時的狀況,自然仍有很 大的空白需要更多的後續研究來填補。
的方式無法找出其關聯性,本研究的確從企業組織的使用性資源層次看到其可能 的差異,不過由於採取的研究策略是藉由從業者分享其經驗來建構出一個企業組 織進行使用性實踐樣貌的策略,因此在這方面無法有效排除其他可能的干擾因 素,所以希冀未來對這個議題有興趣者,或許可以嘗試以企業組織為研究對象,
並搭配本研究在文獻回顧中所探討如 Schaffer(2004)所提出的企業使用性實踐 成熟度自評表或其他使用性發展評估模型(e.g., Trillium, 1994; Earthy, 1998)做 為工具,以明確進行不同規模之組織企業間的比較。
最後,由於本研究是針對企業在使用性實踐層次的探討,關注焦點是會不會 採取 UCD 取向做為其設計策略及影響其採取與否的因素,而不涉及應用這個策 略所能發揮效果的驗證上,所以將來如果是以個案探討的方式來進行類似研究,
建議也可以延伸探討在網站使用性實踐程度不等之企業,是否確實會因為採取了 UCD 策略而提升其使用性與使用者的滿意度,並在盡可能排除其他外在干擾因 素的前提下,找出企業組織應用使用者中心設計策略最可能創造出成功的關鍵因 素。
