Business & Administration
Analysed by course type, Business & Administration courses had the highest number of participants, at 21,356 (31.1% of total), followed by Tourism, Gaming & MICE Events courses and Language courses, with 7,520 (10.9%) and 6,634 (9.7%) participants respectively; number of participants attending Beauty & Hair Design courses surged by 119.9% to 1,878.

All active institutions that mainly engaged in providing vocational training courses in 2018, including public and private training institutions as well as higher education institutions.
Participants in Courses Organised for Enterprises / Institutions
According to the Construction Safety Scheme, persons working in construction sites or work sites shall hold a valid Occupational Safety Card for Construction Industry. Number of participants who attended relevant courses totalled 7,357 in 2018, down by 29.4% year-on-year.
A total of 239 courses were organised for Public Administration Institutions, with 8,616 participants; the majority (52.2%) of the participants attended Business & Administration courses. Meanwhile, courses organised for the Gaming Sector and Hotels & Similar Activities had 8,224 and 2,430 participants respectively.
Among the 1,761 vocational training courses, 722 (41.0% of total) were organised for enterprises or institutions, down by 3.5% year-on-year. Number of participants increased by 13.8% to 30,682.
Most participants attended Business & Administration courses, comprising 37.8% (11,612) of the total; participants taking Tourism, Gaming & MICE Events courses (4,969) and Language courses (4,822) made up 16.2% and 15.7% respectively.

Course completion rate: Number of completions as a proportion in the total number of participants of relevant courses in the reference year.
Completions: Participants who have passed the final examination for the course during the reference year (including those who have completed cross-year courses). If no examination is required, they refer to participants who have an attendance rate of not lower than the prescribed requirement.
