Full-time employees increased by 1.5% year-on-year to 56,634, with female employees making up 56.8%. Shift working employees accounted for 92.8% of the total employees in the Gaming Sector.
Average earnings (excluding bonuses) of full-time employees in December rose by 4.3% year-on-year to MOP22,940; resident and non-resident employees earned an average of MOP23,150 and MOP18,830 respectively.
Job vacancies decreased by 95 year-on-year to 460, of which 100 were for dealers. Among the vacancies, 38.7% required work experience while 87.4% required senior secondary education or lower; requirement for knowledge of Mandarin and English accounted for 90.0% and 31.1% respectively.
There were 24,453 dealers, up by 1.7% year-on-year, and their average earnings rose by 5.4% to MOP19,850.

In the fourth quarter of 2017, a total of 1,518 new employees were hired, surging by 129.3% from 662 in the same quarter of 2016.
Furthermore, the employee recruitment rate (2.7%) went up by 1.5 percentage points year-on-year, while the job vacancy rate (0.8%) fell by 0.2 percentage points. These indicators suggested that some of the vacancies in the Gaming Sector had already been filled.

Participants by course category Around 99.5% of the participants attended courses organised by the gaming enterprises, and almost all participants were employer-sponsored.
Among the participants, 58.1% attended courses in Business & Administration, followed by Gaming & Entertainment Services (16.9%) and Information Technology (8.5%).
About 78.6% of the gaming enterprises provided vocational training to their employees. In the fourth quarter, a total of 626 courses were organised.
Number of participants increased substantially by 98.9% year-on-year to 103,487, and 99.8% of the participants attended courses during office hours.
