Average earnings (excluding bonuses) of full-time employees in March rose by 8.7% year-on-year to MOP28,950; resident and non-resident employees earned an average of MOP28,700 and MOP30,890 respectively.
Bank tellers totalled 639, with average earnings rising by 1.6% year-on-year to MOP16,760.

The job vacancy rate (4.6%) and the employee recruitment rate (3.3%) fell by 1.6 and 0.5 percentage points respectively year-on-year, whereas the employee turnover rate remained unchanged. This indicated a decrease in demand for manpower in the Banking Sector in this quarter.

As regards vocational training, about 81.5% of the banks provided vocational training to their employees. In the first quarter, a total of 246 courses were organised and the number of participants decreased by 21.0% year-on-year to 6,484; 56.9% of the participants attended courses during non-office hours.
The majority of the participants took Business & Administration courses (71.9%), followed by Law courses (18.2%). Furthermore, 89.0% of the participants attended courses organised by the banks, and almost all participants were employer-sponsored.
Providing vocational training: Provision of courses organised by the banks or in conjunction with other institutions, or those sponsored by the banks.
