Full-time employees and average earnings Change
Full-time employees in the Gaming Sector increased by 2.8% year-on-year to 57,840, with female employees making up 57.5%. Shift working employees accounted for 94.8% of the total employees in the Sector.
Average earnings (excluding bonuses) of full-time employees in June rose by 3.8% year-on-year to MOP24,550; resident and non-resident employees earned an average of MOP24,680 and MOP22,120 respectively.
Job vacancies increased by 81 year-on-year to 904, including 588 vacancies for dealers. Among the vacancies, merely 14.2% required work experience while 64.7% required senior secondary education or lower; requirement for knowledge of Mandarin and English accounted for 77.2% and 21.9% of the total respectively.
There were 25,213 dealers, up by 4.8% year-on-year, and their average earnings rose by 2.0% to MOP20,850.

In the second quarter of 2019, a total of 1,942 new employees were hired, up by 48.1% from 1,311 in the same quarter of 2018. The employee recruitment rate (3.4%) and the job vacancy rate (1.5%) rose by 1.1 percentage points and 0.1 percentage point respectively year-on-year. These indicators reflect an increase in demand for manpower in the Gaming Sector.

Participants by course category
As regards vocational training, 76.9% of the gaming enterprises provided vocational training to their employees. In the second quarter, a total of 976 courses were organised. Number of participants went up by 39.9% year-on-year to 106,957, and 99.9% of the participants attended courses during office hours.
Among the participants, 37.0% attended courses in Services, 27.6% in Gaming & Entertainment Services and 25.6% in Business & Administration.
About 97.6% of the participants attended courses organised by the gaming enterprises, and almost all participants were employer-sponsored.
