第五章 結論與建議
第三節 後續研究方向
本研究旨在探討公共圖書館合作提供多元文化服務，礙於研究範圍與限制，
本研究仍有未盡周延之處，本節擬提供後續研究方向，以供未來感興趣之研究者 作參考。
一、以量化方式進行公共圖書館合作提供多元文化服務之研究
本研究採用質化半結構式的訪談方式，共訪談15所公共圖書館及2家書商，雖已涵蓋國立及大型公共圖書館，然仍無法遍及臺灣北、中、南、東之地方性公 共圖書館，新移民族群並非僅分佈在縣市之都會區之中，亦有許多處於鄉鎮之 中，因此建議後續研究者，可採用量化研究法或針對鄉鎮圖書館進行普查研究，
得以收集到更完整之研究資料，作為後續服務提供上革新或改進之參考。
二、進行新移民族群需求與使用調查，以及圖書館人力資源普查
如上結論中提到，公共圖書館目前於推行多元文化服務上急需協助的一點，即為使用調查研究之進行，建議後續執行相關研究的研究者，可進行如新移民使 用行為調查、新移民族群分布調查、公共圖書館人才庫之調查、當地公共圖書館 可用之社會資源調查等調查，作為公共圖書館推行多元文化服務時的重要參考資 訊。
三、評估合作提供多元文化服務之效益
公共圖書館辛苦地克服困難合作提供多元文化服務，應建立好評估效益的指 標，以免浪費資源。建議未來針對多元文化服務之合作方式進行效益評估，也有 利於公共圖書館能更有效率地分配資源及安排優先順序。
四、進行圖書館親子閱讀與強化和國民中小學互動之相關研究
研究發現，圖書館辦理親子閱讀相關活動較能得到新移民族群的迴響。由於 新移民族群們使用圖書館的目的之一，主要即為了孩子的教育問題，且學校也是 新移民族群及其子女最常接觸的場域之一，但學校圖書館普遍來說並未能有效發 揮提倡閱讀之功能；因此建議未來圖書館可從事新移民族群親子閱讀之相關研 究，並加強學校與國民中小學圖書館之互動關係，將公共圖書館服務向外延伸，
使新移民族群及其子女能充分地利用到圖書館所提供的資源與服務。
