第三節 研究限制與未來研究方向
最後,本研究在研究過程中,仍有部分力有未逮之處,在此提供相關議題的 研究建議,希望對未來的學者與先進能有所裨益。
一、家庭結構與等值尺度間之關係仍需進一步研究
本研究之實證模型雖然將不同類型之家庭區分,並分析其消費偏好,但事實 上,該模型無法反映家庭成員之間的交互作用對於等值規模之影響。舉例而言,
在家庭人數同為四人的情況下,相較於扶養一位兒童與一位嬰兒之核心家庭,與 兩位成年子女同住之核心家庭,可能更能夠在購買食物,以及相關日用品之使用 上,達到某種程度的規模經濟。即使家庭之間有類似的人口組成(年齡與家庭成 員數),只要家庭成員扮演的角色不同(如兩位情人同居的家庭與兩位成年兄弟 姊妹同住的家庭),其家庭分工型態,以及家庭消費偏好可能就會有所差異。該 分工型態與消費偏好之差異,會影響到家庭等值規模,進而影響糧食等值支出之 換算。
二、財貨與等值規模間之關係仍須進一步研究
過去文獻(Jorgenson and Slesnick,1987)曾考慮不同商品等值規模不同的情 況,對於以糧食作為研究主題的本研究來說,這樣的考量是必要的。雖然糧食的 大量採買,使人口較多的家庭,享有因市場促銷活動而糧食平均成本較低的優勢,
進而使等值規模下降;但糧食不像其他可重複使用的財貨,糧食一旦消費後就消 失,糧食並沒有家庭內公共財的性質,即使在家庭內也具有敵對性與排他性。因 此,家庭人數對於糧食的等值規模影響,可能會比對其他財貨等值規模的影響來 得小。然而,一旦考量個別財貨有不同的等值規模,就會使模型的複雜程度大幅 增加。本研究曾經嘗試考量不同商品具不同等值規模的實證模型,然而,其估計 結果卻不甚理想。
