當藝術與愛情接軌時，總會擦出絢爛的火花。舒曼與克拉拉的結合始終為後 世樂道，除了在生活中相互珍惜，在音樂中也不時傳遞對彼此敬重與愛護，彼此 選用創作樂思，分享文學上的靈感，最重要的是，他們在作品中傾訴深刻的愛情。
舒曼與克拉拉的生命緊緊相連，在婚姻日記、家事簿與信件的文字中，他們 靈魂交融，互重互愛，呈現於後世眼中，則是不可抹滅的愛情印記。「藝術是份美 好的禮物，確實沒有任何事物比用聲音表達情感來得更美。它也是悲傷時最好的 慰藉；能夠帶給他人快樂，是多麼愉快的事，多麼美好的感覺。而把自己的生命 投注在追求藝術上，是多麼崇高的感受。」108 這段話是克拉拉在面對藝術與生命 時，所抱持最真摯的信念；同時意指音樂始終在他們兩人的生命中扮演的角色－
交織且共生。
舒曼對於藝術歌曲的特質在於對文學的直覺，此特點也深深影響克拉拉的創 作，由作品中便能略見一二。但除了文字的交流之外，兩人的音樂中時常含有愛 情的縮影，大抵如：彼此作品風格的相互影響、在作品動機的借取與呼應、文字 謎題散佈音樂間，更甚是以彼此為靈感而創作，不經話語的陳述，而在音樂之間 輝映愛情，更為後世所傾心並受到感動。
然而，接續在豐收的「歌曲之年」之後，《愛之春》歌曲集的詩作與音樂不是 舒曼暨克拉拉最具代表性的創作，也因此，後人較少提及、詠唱。但舒曼將音樂 駕馭於文字之上的才情，仍能將平凡的詩意，以主觀的情感要素，傳遞其內涵。
《愛之春》，是兩人彼此訴說愛的感受，它以平靜、細膩且內向的文字，取代

強烈的渴求。十二首歌包含獨白及重唱，如對話般點點鋪敘而成的篇章。舒曼與 克拉拉化身為詩人，聽詩人細說感情的喜悅、傷感與等待，在歌曲的情緒轉折間 呈現戲劇性的變化。
除了詩意上的表達，音樂上的表現同樣突顯兩人於創作時的默契與喜好。以 調性而論，曲集中有六首歌曲以降 A 大調為主，其餘則使用降 A 大調之屬調、下 屬調，亦或是其小三度上下之調性（B 大調、F 大調和 f 小調）。在音樂動機的設 計上，第一首和最後一首歌曲採用相同的主題旋律，前後相互呼應；而第九首和 第十首歌曲除了有相同的主題，也採用相似的低音旋律及和聲進行，進一步探究 得以發現，二曲的素材多取自第八首歌曲。唯有第八首曲子呈現未能實現的渴望，
而後二曲則透過詞意表達滿足感受。
而克拉拉在此曲集中的第二首首與第十一首作品，尾奏的對位旋律與舒曼第 八、九及第十首歌曲的低音旋律如出一轍，藉作品分享相同的樂思；另外，克拉 拉第四首與舒曼第十首作品之間也存在關連性，兩首歌曲的導奏，皆採琶音音型 且如序言般進行。綜觀而論，隨處可見作曲家分享彼此的音樂話語，並以音樂素 材鞏固曲集之間的關連性。
如前文提及，舒曼在創作的計畫中，沒有將這組作品設定為「聯篇歌曲」(cycle) 的型式。首先，他與克拉拉各自從呂克特的詩集《愛之春》中，挑選彼此喜愛且 易入樂的詩文，並非經過刻意安排挑選而成；再者，兩人創作的時間點間隔半年，
當時舒曼已進入交響樂的創作時期，而克拉拉則為舒曼的生日禮物作準備，因而 促成新作品的完成；109 第三，在舒曼策劃的秘密出版過程，曲目的選擇上略有差 異：原先為克拉拉於 1840 年 12 月所作的柏恩斯與海涅三首歌曲，後選用其 1841

在浪漫派創造顛峰的兩人，創作的源頭皆是主觀的情感，而受愛情所觸動的 氛圍，在樂念的聯繫之中，便能伸手觸及彼此內心的世界。筆者以為，這部《愛 之春》的歌曲集，是藝術家超越文字與音樂的嶄新面貌，投注兩人的心緒於其中，
是對愛情最直截、傾心的表白，無須言語，無須剖析，便能在音樂的流瀉中道出 美好的篇章。
